Molly a small urban car Domus Academy Milan 1998-1999

Molly is a small symmetrical urban car. it’s exterior is made of a large glass surface, a transparent and luminous bubble like cover, as well as a rubber material substituting these parts which have traditionally been coated with steel. This glass bubble is internally supported by a steel rubber coated structure which utilizing a rubber suckers system and gives an uninterrupted surface effect.




Thus a new type of vehicle is being born, a vehicle which recognizes its own operator. It is a kind of interactive game.. it’s enough to touch a sensor to get in and to steer the vehicle an additional touch is enough instead of traditional keys. it is the one applying modern technology to provide simple and smart solutions. This concept has originated in order to change our traditional relationship with vehicles and create a more pleasant and human bond with it. The back of the sofa can be folded forward thus leaving free space for work and relaxation. This sofa is provided with two flexible structures one for each operator. These structures end up in a mirror giving also information on the car' s driving condition. The rear seat can also be folded in the reverse direction thus the sofa can move backwards. This way the driver can drive more comfortably having better visibility.


Molly can transport one to three passengers. The driver’s seat can be converted to a sofa there is also a single rear seat. Together they can provide different scenarios. Both the front and the rear seat can become more comfortable by adding soft pillows..
